BISHOPS NYMPTON PARISH HALL

BOND

A bond is required as security against breach of these Hirer Terms & Conditions, at £200 for weddings and larger events, £50 for other functions.

Payment on booking, with full hire fee, by BACS to Bishops Nympton Parish Hall.

Weddings can be secured with a 20% deposit.

The hall will be checked after the event and the bond will be returned unless terms and conditions have not been met then some or all the bond will be retained, the hirer will be invoiced for any costs exceeding the value of the bond.

ACCESS TO THE HALL

A coded Key Safe is located on the wall to the left of the main entrance, the code will be provided, key to be returned to the safe at the end of event.

Keys for internal doors are in kitchen cupboard by the sink to be returned at event end.  

PARKING

There is parking, do not park on grassed areas, or shop access, paving front of the hall is for loading/unloading only.   

FIRE & EVALUATION

Hirer must nominate a responsible person attending the event as a Fire Marshal who must be fully aware of the Fire and Evacuation Procedures in the Fire Notice to comply with the procedures if the alarms sound.

FIREWORKS

Chinese Lanterns, Fireworks, and Candles are not permitted.     

SMOKING & VAPING

Is prohibited, there is a designated area outside.  

CCTV POLICY

There is a CCTV system, the Policy Notice is displayed, and downloadable here.

DOORS

Rear external corridor doors are to remain unlocked, they are a fire exit, all windows and doors to be closed and locked at the end of the event.  

MUSIC/ENTERTAINMENT POLICY

In accordance with the 1996 Noise Act windows and external doors must be closed at 11:00pm, and music lowered to a level to avoid nuisance to neighbours, and silenced no later than 12:30am, premises to be vacated by 1am.  

BAR

HEATING

The heating is pre-set, fans are available on request. 

LIGHTS

Main Hall lights are dimmable. 

CAR PARK LIGHTS

Switch is below electric box in the bar, labelled ‘Car Park’, turn off on leaving, there is a 20 minute timed delay to enable safe exit.  

WIFI

The address and code are on the cupboard door.

HOT WATER BOILER

Switch on wall, allow 10-15 minutes to heat, switch off on leaving. 

COOKERS

Switch at the wall, use extractor fans, spills to be cleaned up.

DISHWASHER

Follow printed instructions fixed to the appliance door.

FURNITURE

To be returned to Dennis Gunn Room (3 stacks of 8 chairs and two tables). Main Hall (50 chairs against walls, surplus tables and chairs be returned to outside store), store key is in kitchen cupboard.

DECORATING THE HALL

There are hooks on beams for decorations, no additional fixings or blue tack are to be used, dressing is not to be located near light fittings.  

EXTERNAL STORAGE AREA

To be left tidy, hirers items are at owner’s risk. 

STAGING

Can be supplied, set up and removing is responsibility of the hirer.

LINEN

Linen and tea towels are not provided, tablecloth hire is available. 

HOUSEKEEPING

  • All areas are to be clean and tidy after use.
  • Kitchen items and glassware to be washed and back in place.
  • Kitchen and toilet floors mopped, and toilets flushed.
  • Grounds left tidy.
  • Rubbish and recycling to be placed in bins at rear of the hall.
  • Cleaning equipment room is by the Ladies toilet.
  • Please do not wet mop the hall floor, spillages to be wiped over with a damp cloth.
